MASTER CLASS
Under the term MASTER CLASS is hidden Muay Boran, from which Thai boxing was originally born. This ancient martial art contains many techniques from different national styles from different regions of Siam. Muay Boran contains not only the techniques of punches, grips, pulls, power holds, strangulation, but also the technique of affecting the painful body. The main task of this art is to develop habits for fighting an armed opponent. Warriors could continue fighting even if they lost their weapon.
In addition to the use of Muay Boran in wars, this system existed as a strength training methodology and as a competitive form of martial arts. However, in the early 1920s, the Thai government banned many of the destructive techniques and traditions of Muay Boran. These new restrictive match rules were introduced to protect the health of fighters during sporting events. Today, Muay Boran techniques are only taught by Thai masters and are taught as a very tough martial art.
